GREEN SOUL
We aim to be recognized as a promoter of environmental awareness in the commercial and superyacht industry.
Our Green Soul
At the Palumbo SY Refit shipyard, our commitment to sustainability has also included the installation of solar panels, aiming to reduce lighting energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Photovoltaic Plant & Reduction of Emission to the Atmosfere
Since 2016, we've installed solar panels, starting with a 1 MW plant, and a second plant of 380 KW completed in the 2023.
A third plant of 800 KW is ready from the early 2024. Together, these efforts have helped reduce CO2 emissions by 8,000 tons from 2016 to nowadays. In addition, energy efficiency improvements made in 2019 have further reduced emissions by 5,333 tons of CO2.

Hydro Jetting
Thanks to the introduction of hydro jetting with the purchase of 20 advanced Hammelmann machines, the process of removing worn paint from boats has undergone a significant evolution, ensuring a procedure with minimal environmental impact compared to the blasting technique previously used. The current fleet of machines has been further enhanced with the purchase of 2 new Hammelmann hydrojets.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY
We optimize electrical consumption in our plants by using processes that minimize energy waste through "inverting" and electrical rephasing.

Shore Power
The shipyard already has a direct power supply system to the ships, which is used daily for them, except for cruise ships, which need a high amount of power that the shipyard is currently unable to convey.
As early as next year, major work will be undertaken, in consultation with the Ministry of Infrastructure in Malta, to remedy this and make this power supply technology available for cruise ships as well.

Airlite Paint on Infrastructures
Use of the patented Airlite technology to combat air pollution: this in fact reduces pollutants close to the surfaces to which it is applied thanks to its negative ions, transforming them into inert salts.
One consequence is the indirect reduction of PM10 and PM2.5 particulate matter of secondary origin.
It helps reduce ozone levels by eliminating NOx precursors to its formation.
Specifically, the application of Airlite paint at the Palumbo shipyard in Malta, the first in the group and the first case ever in Malta, results in a positive impact equal to the absorption of CO2 by 40 trees.
