The First Quarter of 2019 has been thriving with activity at 360° at the Palumbo Marseille Shipyard. The Shipyard has implemented the number of employees to offer an even better on-site service through the introduction of one highly experienced Project Manager Coordinator, two Qualified Refit Project Managers and one Logistics foreman. Palumbo SY strongly believes that people are the real driving force within the process of turning Palumbo SY Marseille into a true leader in the Super Yacht refit sector and attracting to Marseille an increasingly higher number of most valuable customers.
The Production department is proud of the result of several important Refit Projects including just to name a few:
MY Boadicea 76m – 20 Year Special Survey: Hull plating renewal, Cleaning 17 Tanks, Tanks inspections and measurements, Welding , Metal works to the tank tops, Exhaust pipe, Plumbing works, Painting, Teak works, etc… MV Alazizi 43m – Significant Pipe work repairs and Composite repairs MY Genesia 40m – Hull paint works, metal works for keel and fin installations (paint works in the watershed quoted for this summer) MY Marina Wonder 38m – Hull paint works, hull and super structure polishing carried out in the watershed (works could not have been performed elsewhere during this weather window) MY Rola 43m –5 Year survey: Metal works, Shaft line, Underwater Hull sandblasting and painting With a growing list of vessels enquiring to come to the shipyard, we are pursuing every possible lead to assist our clients and to be part of a bright future for Marseille and all its local contractors.
PALUMBO SUPERYACHTS SAVONA OUTCOMES THE APRIL CHALLENGE
Palumbo Superyachts Savona is the perfect stop for its location in the Ligurian Coast, its workers’ experienced craftsmanship, its 820 ton travel lift all combined with the know-how of the Palumbo Network. The integration of all these factors creates the perfect setting for a successful Refit, should it be only a quick stop for the necessary detailing prior to starting the cruising season or a long Refit to enhance and refresh the beauty of a Superyacht.
Palumbo Superyachts Savona has burst with activity in April covering all the available space on the hard-standing area with 10 Refit Projects for yachts up to 55m while using every inch of its fully equipped Marina to serve its clients afloat. The shipyard personnel have been involved in managing all sorts of Refit works including Paint jobs, hull sandblasting and complete cycle renewal, Full Refurbishment of Guest and Crew interior area, Pipe work replacement, Overboard discharges, Renewal in Steel and Aluminum, composite repairs. Though proud to struggle finding available dry space, the shipyard has always managed to serve both its new and well-established clients through an on-time and on-budget service.
PALUMBO SUPERYACHTS REFIT WELCOMES MARZIO RUCCONI
Marzio Rucconi joins the Palumbo Superyachts Refit Division as General Sales Manager reporting directly to the CEO, Giuseppe Palumbo. Marzio will be working closely with the General Managers of the 5 Palumbo Refit Shipyards of Ancona, Malta, Marseille, Naples and Savona to increase the already impressive Services of the Largest Refit Network. Marzio has started his career straight into the yachting business immediately after obtaining his Master Degree in Marine and Naval Engineering. His passion for constantly aiming to the best result without accepting any compromise perfectly suits the philosophy of the Group that counts on the 50 year + experience of the Palumbo Family. In January 2019, after working for well-established Yachting Companies with combined Refit and After Sales roles, Marzio joined the Palumbo Superyachts Refit Division as reference point for clients seeking highly qualified, on-time and on-budget Refit services performed in any of the Palumbo Superyacht Shipyards.
Part of the Palumbo Superyachts division which includes the brands: ISA Yachts, Columbus, Mondomarine and Extra, the Palumbo Superyachts Refit section formed by 5 shipyards (Ancona, Malta, Marseille, Naples and Savona) today is the largest superyacht maintenance and repair network in the Mediterranean providing customers with a wide range of multitasking and time sensitive services.
